How Genuine Are Some Men of God.
“Men of God, men of rape” how genuine are some of these men of God? Rape cases committed by them have been on the increase. That aside, divorce cases have also taken a rise amongst men of God. Pastors Christ Oyahkilome and Christ Okotie readily come to mind. At the last count, Pastor Christ Okotie has divorced two women. Odumegwu Onwumere, a poet, writer and investigative journalist, compiled a list of media reported cases of rape amongst some men of God. See his write up below. “On Thursday, 21 February 2013, members of Odua Peoples Congress, OPC, in Abeokuta, arrested a pastor of Redeemed Christian Church of God, RCCG, for supposedly raping a 12-year old housemaid.
According to Vanguard, the pastor, who was an interpreter with the church, committed the crime in his home at 6, Shamusideen, Oke-Sokori area of the town, while his wife was said to have been away. After the show of shame, the girl reported the incident to her parents, hence his arrest.
