Shettima’s Freudian Slip…

If you’re looking for a very good example of a Freudian Slip, this is one:

Tinubu will rule Nigeria with a “dose of hospitality of Abacha and the commitment of Buhari” – Alhaji Kashim Shettima, APC Vice-presidential candidate.

For starters, a Freudian Slip is “an unintentional error regarded as revealing subconscious feelings”.

If you remember the reign of Gen. Sani Abacha, late head of State, and you’re a member of the late MKO Abiola family or the pro-democracy family, this will surely rattle you.

Even Bola Ahmed Tinubu himself will not be excited to know he’s going to rule, if he wins, like the man who chased him into exile.

If you’re a surviving Nigerian and you look back from 2015 and now, you’d be very worried at this statement, which I consider to be a Freudian Slip.

It then reminds me of 1 Kings 12:11 of the Holy Bible:

“Now then, my father loaded you with a heavy yoke; yet I will add to your yoke. My father disciplined you with whips, but I will discipline you with scorpions!”

The above statement was made by King Rehoboam, son of Solomon the wisest man.

To the Tinubu team, this is what your VP candidate just told us and it is a Freudian Slip, I guess?

Troubling!
