Annual Pilgrimage To South East.

Every December and January of each year, it is estimated that over 2 million Igbos worldwide (Nigeria inclusive) embark on yearly pilgrimage to South East Nigeria to celebrate Christmas, end of the year, and New Year. Various events and activities are undertaken at the South East during this period. These times of the year record the highest number of events.

The Igbos that could not make the pilgrimage will be thinking seriously about home. During this short period it’s estimated that over $1 billion dollars would be injected into the entire South East economy, all by individual efforts.

Business activities at every city in Nigeria will greatly slow down as a result of the Igbo pilgrimage back home. This is the best time to visit South East for any non Igbo.
